Huff and Puff

I'm waiting out side nervously. Waiting to zoom around the field.  My heart was beating fast to warm up.It's warm up time Room 9 went and picked a spot to warm up. Whaea Nikki made us do balancing on one foot and running on the spot. My legs were now strong to run. Room 9 sprinted around the field. I was half way, I was puffing. I jogged and the grass was soaking, my mind said to stop and walk but I didn't walk and when I was at the end of the finish line all of Room 9 were exhausted. When we finished the first round some people walked when they were almost at the end. I keep on running and puffing every second. I was bolling like a potato at the end of running. I felt proud of my self that I did 2 laps around the field with out stopping!

Principals of Flight

We are learning about Flight. Lift make the plane go up.Thrust make the plane go faster. Gravity brings your plane down to land.Drag slows your plane down.Control means the plane can go left and right as well as forwards.

Matariki Hangi

On Friday the last day of school the whole middle team were having a hangi. First we needed to peel the veges. We bought in potato, pumpkin, kumara and carrot.  After that the whole middle team had to go in the pool area to go and see where the Hangi was cooking.We had to wait until it was our turn. When it was  our turn we saw this medium sized pot. On the top there were rocks to keep the lid on so the heat would not get out. When it was lunch time the hole middle team were starving we started to line up and try the hangi and I sat by my friend to eat and when I was finished we went to play.

Roll and Write

Today for writing we had to use our imagination. We got to roll the dice three times. The first time choose where our story takes place, the second one our main character and the third one the problem in the story.

I rolled a 6, 4, 4.

Here is my story.

When I walked in the cafe I saw a $2 coin. I picked it up and once I put it in my pocked everything changed. When I walked out of the cafe  at once I knew that it was the unlucky $2 coin.I shouldn't picked it up because it changed everything. So I through it away and ran away and didn't come back to the cafe. The next day I searched every wear  in my pock and it was not there. When I found it, it came back and I said "how did you get back"?  I screamed and I screamed every wear in my house!  Once I opened the door, I was about to through the unlucky $2 coin. Then a big splash of  goop wet me. And I said "you are very mean little old man"! But I didn't know that it was a fire breathing dragon so when I looked up I screamed! The dragon was angry because I was really  mean to him that he blew fire at me. I climbed the tall ladder, jumped in the pool and a man took my unlucky 2 coin and I said "take it if you like"! I called out for the fire breathing dragon. He saw the unlucky 2 coin in the man's hand and the dragon blew fire at him. The man ran away and the dragon followed him every day. Now I am happy but then I found a $2 coin and I picked it up and the story began all again.

Rare Zebra Born at Chester Zoo

Chester Zoo in England has just welcomed the arrival of a rare baby zebra.

The Grevy’s Zebra is the first of its kind to be born at Chester Zoo in over 34 years.

The foal was born with brown stripes which will turn black as she grows older.

The is only an estimated 2,500 Grevy’s Zebra left in the wild.

The Grevy’s Zebra is the largest of all zebras and is distinctive for having the narrowest stripes.

The Grevy’s Zebra is now endangered due to lack of water sources, disease and hunting for their skins.

A Moment in Time-Tabloids

I saw lots of parents helping kids by walking beside them.

I heard lot of kids stamping like elephants.

I felt that it was hard to do kick the ball into the hard thing.

I wondered if my bean bag would land on the dot.

Statistics

We are learning about statistics in maths. One thing I have learnt is a pie graph and it was really hard for me the first time then it got easier.

2013

I have enjoyed about swimsafe beacause I get to go to the deepest pool and my frist time ever and I was the high group and I was lucky beacuse I get to go to the diving pool it was fun but when it was my turn I was scared to jump off beacuse I got butterflies in my tummy and I thought that I would drown.

Athletics Running

We have learnt to run and Mrs Head taught us running. It was hard to beat the boys and I was puffed

and Mrs Head said on your marks and we did one step up to the line and get set we bent our knee down and do the opposite arm and pretend to hold a feather. On go I try my hardest to get first place.

My goal is to run faster by swinging my arms more in my capital L shape.

Athletics Throwing

I am good at my throwing and I have to throw a long one and my goal is to throw longer every time and try to throw past the tall logs.

App Review For Pic Collage.

Pic Collage is an app where you reflect on your learning by using pictures.

I have used Pic Collage to show my learning at different events like when the Hot Air Balloon came to our school.

Pic Collage helps me with my learning because it is an app to share our learning with other people.

I think Pic Collage should stay on the i- pads or i-pods because it is a fantastic way to share our learning quickly.

Pic Collage is a collaborative app because you work with other people to make the Pic Collage.

Next time I use Pic Collage I am going to try and use pictures that actually show the order of what we did the event in. I could use it to summarise the story I have read at reading time or I could use it in writing for planning my beginning, middle and end.
